Our science and commercial teams work directly with climate leaders to conduct detailed evaluations and develop landmark deals for accelerating permanent carbon removal. Our due diligence is based on our Criteria for High-Quality Carbon Dioxide Removal, co-developed with Microsoft. This ensures climate impacts will be delivered while mitigating potential risks. We’ve evaluated many carbon removal technologies and facilities on behalf of climate leaders. To support Microsoft’s 2030 carbon-negative commitment, Microsoft collaborated with Ørsted to accelerate its carbon capture and storage project. Carbon Direct advised on technical risks that impact the project execution and timeline, as well as sourcing sustainable biomass.
