New York – July 10, 2023 – Carbon Direct today announced that Vice Chairwoman Nili Gilbert and Chief Scientist Dr. Julio Friedmann will speak at the TED Countdown Summit in Detroit, Michigan on July 11, 2023.
Gilbert will lead a discussion with David Blood, head of Al Gore's Generation Investments, based on her talk at last year’s summit, “The Crucial Intersection of Climate and Capital,” about how investments can have a real impact on the trajectory of climate. She is also serving on the TED Vision Council to help curate the event.

In his talk, “The Optimism of Abundance,” Dr. Friedmann will discuss why there are grounds for optimism when it comes to climate and the key ingredients needed to build a better world.
