Background & Bio

Michelle brings over a decade of international experience in sustainability, carbon markets, and infrastructure finance across the Americas and Europe. Michelle has conducted technical due diligence and structured financing for a wide range of nature-based carbon projects, from tropical forest conservation to blue carbon initiatives. Her work has directly supported millions of tons of carbon credit transactions while maintaining a focus on quality, integrity, and community benefit. Prior to joining Carbon Direct, Michelle held senior roles at Catona Climate and ClimateSeed (a BNP Paribas social business, now AXA), where she led project sourcing, structured innovative finance deals in LATAM and APAC, and managed global client portfolios including major financial institutions and corporates.

Fluent in Spanish, English, and French, Michelle holds a B.S. in International Business Administration from Northeastern University. She is deeply committed to advancing equity in climate action and brings a strong international lens to her work.
